How to Make CHANGES Easier to Accept

As we move forward each day, we are given the opportunity to make changes in our lives. We are given the opportunity to see what is no longer serving us by being more aware of how we are feeling and what we are dreaming. When my alarm goes off at 6:30am every morning, I lay there for thirty minutes setting the tone for my day. Meaning, I ground myself as a tree with roots and place a protective light in and around me. I see this visualization in my mind and I feel my way into it. As I do this meditation, I begin to acknowledge all the things I am grateful for in that moment. I focus on the dreams in my head and what I believe they will look like here on Earth when they arrive. As I do this, I am creating my day as I see it. However, these things rarely show up the way they looked in my mind and sometimes take longer than expected. I imagine it is this way for most. So, how do we know when these changes occur if it is “best” for us?

Change is the only constant in life. In fact, it is guaranteed. Sometimes we are able to prepare for change, but most times, change comes as a surprise in my experience. Change is neither “good” nor “bad”, it just is, like any other experience. When something happens that we were not expecting, people tend to focus on the negative feeling it may bring because it was unexpected. In the age of “instant gratification” we have come to expect what we want to arrive, and it does, but what about when it shows up in a different package than what we envisioned?

As more people inhabit the planet, there are more ideas to entertain and different ways of being to consider. Today, we are able to get almost anything we desire at the push of a button. Instant gratification seems to have become the “norm”, but when it doesn’t occur, self-importance can play a big part. We humans can get stuck in the victim mode really quick when things don’t happen the way we think they should. I have definitely found myself thinking, “Why does this always happen to me?” or “What did I do to deserve this?”. The list of thoughts goes on for us, but how does it serve to stay in the energy of “why me” and not accepting what is in the moment?

When we accept “what is” in that moment, we are surrendering. I have learned that surrender is a powerful place to be. The phrase, “I don’t know”, just as powerful. When we accept and allow “what is”, we say to the Universe, God, Source, Yourself (whatever it is for you) that we are open to all opportunities. When we let go of “control”, we are releasing the limiting thoughts of the mind that tell us we will never be good enough or we are not capable of navigating the change that has occurred. Instead of seeing the change as something “bad”, why not choose to see it as an opportunity to grow and evolve?

When we choose to be grateful for what is, we choose to stay in a loving vibration, we choose to feel good. When we choose to feel good, we continue to vibrate the feeling out into our environment and the people around us feel it. Whatever the thoughts in your head about the change occurring may be, this is what the people will feel. So why not choose the good feeling thoughts and beliefs and make them your truth? When something we perceive to be “bad” happens and we choose to focus on the facts of the event, we will only perpetuate what we are not wanting to experience because we are focusing on the external. Remember, facts are just the physical experience. Our truth is something personal that does not need to be proven to anyone. I just remind you to ask if the truth you are holding is “loving” or “unloving” before continuing with it.

As I look at the world today, I see many unloving things happening. I see many of us focusing on all the “bad” and not placing our attention on the possible solutions. Change is the catalyst that gets us out of the comfort zone that most of us operate from daily. Change is the motivation and encouragement to take a chance and push the boundaries of the limiting mind… without change, how would we grow and evolve? As one of my teachers would say, “Not everyone signed up for the enlightenment tour”. There is nothing “wrong” with choosing to remain in the unloving spaces of life, but if a person truly wishes to be fulfilled, there is no way to achieve it from there. And, really, what is there to be afraid of anyway? If we are able to change our perception in any situation, we will always be able to see another way.
