THE PATH OF MOST ALLOWING

Hello Loves,

How are Y'all doin' this fine Monday???

The end of May and beginning of June were so busy that I forgot to send a newsletter last month! My trip to the Bay Area was so lovely! I had the opportunity to share sound healing and self-awareness workshops with Santa Clara University Faculty, Department of Family and Children's Services Staff, The Dancing Cat, and I got to perform at The Sonic Runway art installation at San Jose City Hall, as well as collaborate and play with Mel, the CEO of Banyan Tree Women's Collective! I had the privilege of sharing some sessions with private clients in their homes. Plus, my dear friends Cheryl and Marie made sure I had some wheels to get around and a place to stay. And, I was able to make a trip to the beach and visit my lovely friend, Cyd! Everything about the trip from beginning to end was so easy and fluid. It really showed me how to stay in the flow with future endeavors.

Currently, I am in the process of planning my next trip to San Jose, August 15-20th... So, if you're interested in a private session or would like to host a team building workshop, please connect with me to schedule as soon as possible so that we're able to make time. I'm excited to work with the new set of singing bowls that I was gifted by the monks at the Buddhist Temple. A HUGE THANKS to Guy for thinking of me to have the bowls and to Rose for helping me pick them up and for allowing them to live in her hOMe so they don't have to travel on planes. Sooooooo much to BE GRATEFUL for that I don't even have words to express the all feelings!

One of the other surprising moments of the trip was a large donation of $2000 from a lovely lady named Vivian for the non-profit to support the work of The Adara Collective. The donation she gave made it possible for us to purchase a Starlink Satellite so that I am able to offer weekly virtual sound healing sessions for officers and people coming through re-entry from the prisons back to the community. Most of the people we work with in the prisons are not local and don't have access to transportation a lot of the time. In addition, officers are working 12-16 hour shifts and commuting 1-2 hours each way to get home, so it makes it challenging to do something in-person after work. The virtual sessions will provide a place for people to connect and receive continued support from wherever they live. I am very excited to get it up and running properly to begin this service!

Since returning hOMe, I have made time to integrate all that I experienced on my journey. I have felt to direct my focus on release and play with how quickly I am able to let go of people, places, things that are simply not feeling aligned in the moment so that I am able to create more freely. It's not to say that they will not align again in the future, and sometimes, it's best to know when to accept what is and move forward. I am finding as I practice this regularly that life is easier and feels better in my body and mind. I can't say that letting go of stuff feels easy all the time, but things can't change unless we choose to start practicing new behaviors and habits and not take anything too serious.

As I began practicing more of the letting go and acceptance of what is, which I see as "the path of most allowing", the Universe brought me a small home invasion of ants to see how to maneuver and navigate in this new way. The ants multiplied and were EVERYWHERE in the house. In my bed, all over the floors, surrounding the house outside as well. Fortunately, they didn't bite, however, they were a nuisance and taking my precious time and attention to vacuuming them up and throwing them out, only to find thousands more in their place. At one point, I came home one day looked at all of them and simply allowed them to be everywhere. I went to bed and just let them be. I surrendered and it was liberating. In the end, the neighbors and I called the landlord to bring in an exterminator. I am not one for using poisons to kill bugs and I was reaching the threshold of losing my mind with the inundation of ants. Home is meant to be our sanctuary and these bugs belonged outside.

The last week without ants has been a wonderful time of reorganizing and purging my hOMe. The Virgo in me feels so satisfied after cleaning and rearranging stuff. It's lovely to be able to walk inside without my shoes on anymore too! As I noticed the lack of ants around, I remembered to look up the totem meaning of ants to see what message they were bringing for me. Turns out they represent that it's time to get organized, build strong communities, and be a trailblazer. In many regions, they represent willpower, diligence, patience, tenacity, endurance, fidelity, cooperation, truthfulness, and power. Ants in nature have amazing strength considering their very small size. In fact, they can carry over 20 times their own weight. That means a 200-pound person with an Ant’s strength could lift a ton! Ants also hear through sensitivity of vibration. They teach us to keep our instincts keen and feel more as we move forward into our dreams. I feel like I'm carrying more weight than I can handle at times as we grow The Adara Collective and share more classes in more places. I also can not imagine doing anything else ❤️

With all that being said... I invite you to get curious about what habits, behaviors, and beliefs might be holding you back in the creation process. What new habit could you practice to replace the ones not serving anymore? Remember to put your oxygen mask on first, and care for your Self first, so that you are able to BE there for "others". I encourage us all to make the time to sit and be quiet with our Selfs and listen. The practice of writing about what we're creating helps us to manifest more quickly as well... simply be aware of the thoughts and feelings within as you're asking. It is helpful to be in a loving headspace with kind thoughts as we imagine and create ❤️

And finally, if you have the means and are able to support the work we’re doing through The Adara Collective, it is greatly appreciated! All of our participants benefit so greatly from the classes and workshops that we offer and are asking for more! As I am only one person, and a newly formed non-profit, funding from the community is our main support as grant money is awarded. The larger grant contributions will allow me to hire more instructors and create a more robust program offering in the future. Any amount you're able to give is helpful ❤️

While the main focus of my work is with the non-profit, I also make time to continue serving the general public too!

Check out my Community Calendar for more details and a session near You! Boerne Community, I'll be back in your hood July 22nd in the library community room. Red Rock Community Center, I'll be with Y'all on July 16th :)

I LOVE and look forward to seeing YOU soon,

Jess
